Cosmo Pools is an NSPI-accredited pool builder
What the National Spa and Pool Institute is, what accreditation actually commits us to, and the awards our work has been judged against.
Why NSPI membership matters
Cosmo Pools is one of South Africa's leading swimming pool manufacturers and installers, and a fully accredited member of the National Spa and Pool Institute. We manufacture every fibreglass shell ourselves, at our own plant on the R513 Brits Road in Hartbeespoort.
The NSPI is the industry body for South African pool builders. It was established in the Western Cape in July 1972, modelled on its American counterpart, and it exists to set and police standards across a trade that is otherwise largely unregulated.
Accredited membership means our construction methods are held to the standards set by the NSPI and the South African Bureau of Standards. It is the difference between a builder who says their work is good and one who submits it to be judged by people who build pools for a living.
It also means there is somewhere to go if something goes wrong. That is worth more than it sounds in a trade where anyone can print a business card.
Four things accreditation requires
Our processes are designed to meet or exceed NSPI and SABS specification, not to meet the minimum that will hold water.
NSPI awards are decided by a panel of architects, interior designers and builders, from submitted photographs of the finished construction.
Membership carries obligations after the pool is handed over, not only during the build.

What our work has been awarded
NSPI 2025 — National Pool of the Year, Fibreglass. The most prestigious award available to a South African pool builder, for a 7.6 m² fibreglass pool in Brackenhurst, Alberton.
NSPI 2025 — National Pool of the Year, Concrete (Gold). Awarded in the same year, across a different discipline.
34 NSPI awards across 2024 and 2025, spanning residential one-piece moulded fibreglass, gunite and hand-packed concrete, restoration, and the Great Value Pools category.
Every one of those pools was built with the same shells and the same crews you can price on this site today. You can see them, with sizes and suburbs, on our awards page.
